People’s United Grants $149K to 28 Eastern Mass. Nonprofits

April 3, 2015 — The People’s United Community Foundation of Eastern Massachusetts announced that it has awarded $149,100 in grants to 28 nonprofits in eastern Massachusetts that provide services related to basic needs, affordable housing, social and health services, education, and arts and culture.

“People’s United Community Foundation of Eastern Massachusetts is pleased to continue its support of the many nonprofits in Eastern Massachusetts that are doing exceptional work in meeting the needs of our communities,” said Kevin Noyes, director of the foundation.

The following organizations received the grants:
  • Asian American Civic Association, Boston: $10,000
  • Boston Trinity Academy, Boston: $5,000
  • Boys & Girls Club of Woburn, Woburn: $5,000
  • Breakthrough Greater Boston, Cambridge: $7,500
  • Build, Boston: $2,500
  • Cabot Performing Arts Center,, Beverly: $10,000
  • Chelsea Collaborative, Chelsea: $2,500
  • Essex County Community Foundation, Danvers: $2,500
  • Friends Forever, Durham: $2,500
  • Friends of Northshore Education Consortium, Beverly: $12,500
  • George Peabody Institute, Danvers: $3,000
  • Hallmark Health System, Malden: $2,100
  • Housing Families, Malden: $3,000
  • Huntington Theatre Company, Boston: $2,500
  • Malden YMCA, Malden: $4,000
  • Masconomet Education Foundation, Topsfield: $10,000
  • Montserrat College of Art, Beverly: $10,000
  • North Shore Community Development Coalition, Salem: $3,000
  • North Shore United Way, Beverly: $7,500
  • Peer Health Exchange, Boston: $5,000
  • Pingree School, Hamilton: $5,000
  • Plummer Home for Boys, Salem: $5,000

Formerly the Danversbank Charitable Foundation, the People's United Community Foundation of Eastern Massachusetts operates three community-based programs: the Neighborhood Fund, Malden Community Fund Program, and the Community Grant Program. Its focuses primarily social, health, youth services, education, affordable housing, cultural, and low- to moderate-income individuals.
