Girls Inc. of Lynn Names Dir. of Development & Communications
October 2, 2016 Girls Inc. of Lynn, a nonprofit that provides after-school and summer programs to help girls develop their capacity to overcome the effects of discrimination and be self-sufficient, recently announced that Donna Crotty has been named director of development and communications.

, said, We are thrilled to have Donna join the Girls Inc. of Lynn staff, says. Her leadership and comprehensive fundraising experience will be particularly important as we begin a new strategic planning process this year.
Crotty will be responsible for developing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that emphasizes annual fundraising goals, donor cultivation, and stewardship, including managing the annual spring luncheon.
She was familiar with Girls Inc. of Lynn, having served on the organization's board of directors from 2007 to 2010.
An experienced fundraiser, Crotty most recently was director of major gifts and development at Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless, a statewide policy and direct service nonprofit aimed at eradicating homelessness across the state.
Before that she was director of marketing and business development for Burke + Design and general manager of The Residential Suites at The Ritz-Carlton Towers. She also held sales and marketing positions for Faneuil Hall Marketplace and The Bostonian Hotel.
Crotty earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Suffolk University.
Founded in 1942, Girls Inc. of Lynn, an affiliate of the national Girls Inc. model, annually serves more than 1,000 girls aged 5-18 with after-school and summer programs tailored to their needs.
For the year ending June 30, 2015, Girls Inc. of Lynn reported $2.62 million in revenue, of which $1.81 million came from contributions and grants, and $2.57 million in expenses, according to its most recently available federal tax filing.
