Hallmark Health Names Chief Development Officer
November 25, 2016 Hallmark Health, based in Medford, which operates Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford and Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, last week announced that it has named Roselyn Fisher as chief development officer.
Fisher's announcement follows an announcement the previous week that Hallmark Health
will cut 57 positions, out of 2,800, to save $16 million in fiscal 2017 in advance of its planned merger with Wellforce, the parent of Tufts Medical Center in Boston and Lowell General Hospital in Lowell.
The cuts are "critical for Hallmark Health to successfully navigate industry-wide challenges of lower inpatient volumes, increases in overhead expenses and less reimbursement for our services, chief executive Alan G. Macdonald was quoted in The Boston Globe.
Fisher brings extensive health care fundraising and philanthropy experience. She spent the last 10 years in numerous fundraising and event planning roles at North Shore Medical Center in Salem.
Most recently, she served as director of development, where she managed all aspects of fundraising, such as annual giving, events, donor stewardship, employee engagement, major gifts, and the annual fundraising cancer walk.
Earlier she served as assistant director of the Salem Chamber of Commerce.
Fisher holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Endicott College, and a certificate in professional fundraising from Boston University. She is a member of the adjunct faculty of North Shore Community College and was recognized in 2015 as a 40 Under 40 honoree as featured in North of Boston Business magazine.
Hallmark Health last June announced that its board of trustees unanimously approved a letter of intent to join Wellforce.
The decision followed "an extensive review process that considered numerous proposals from both local and national providers."
Macdonald at the time said, We are fortunate to have had a great number of thoughtful proposals to consider. but Wellforce clearly stood out as an organization that we can see ourselves aligning with and positioning us for future growth. They bring together thriving community hospitals, a renowned academic medical center and strong physician networks that are leaders in population health management.
Wellforce includes 2,500 physicians, 2 community hospital campuses, an academic medical center and a childrens hospital. Wellforce has $1.36 billion in revenue and 9,000 employees
For the year ending Sept. 30, 2015, Hallmark Health reported operating revenue of $294.8 million in and operating expenses of $303.9 million, according to its most recently available annual report.
