AG's Office Grants $249K to 59 Nonprofits for Summer Jobs

July 28, 2017 — Attorney General Maura Healey last week announced that her office is granting $249,116 obtained through settlements to 59 nonprofits across Massachusetts to fund nearly 200 summer jobs for local youth focused on health and well-being.

“Summer jobs empower young people to gain new skills and contribute to their communities,” AG Healey said, noting that the Healthy Summer Youth Jobs Grant Program will enable young people to work in jobs in government and nonprofit organizations, including working in a community health center, counseling at a summer camp about nutrition, leading cooking classes, and working at a farmer’s market.

A total of $300,000 was granted to 70 entities, which included city and town department across the state.
