August 5, 2017 — Massachusetts nonprofits are being invited to seek grants related to the arts, pro bono consulting to support strategic planning, women's needs, and environmental issues, with deadlines to apply fast approaching.

Nonprofits Invited to Apply for Arts-Related 'Champion in Action' Grant

Massachusetts nonprofits are invited to apply for a "Champion in Action" grant, sponsored by Citizens Bank and NECN, which will award $35,000 and promotional, volunteer, and mentoring services.

The grant will be made to a 501(c)(3) organization focused on community arts with a total operating annual budget of $5 million or less.

The selected grantee must have a demonstrated history of strong fiscal responsibility and leadership, an ability to show how the organization will make effective use of the support and resources being awarded, and proven success in the community arts arena.

Deadline to apply: Aug. 18. Details.

Community Consulting Teams Offering $100K Consulting Grants

Community Consulting Teams of Boston (CCT), a nonprofit organization that helps Boston area nonprofits address strategic business and management challenges on a pro bono basis, announced that it is accepting consulting grant applications worth $100,000 each.

CCT said it anticipates awarding grants with a total value or more than over $1 million. Applicants must be Boston-area 501(c)(3) nonprofits, and project proposals should relate to a key strategic challenge, such as strategic planning, expansion opportunity assessment, situation analysis, marketing strategy, and financial planning.

Consulting projects are performed by teams of experienced MBA-alumni volunteers from major business schools.

Deadline to apply: Aug. 25. Details.

Community Foundation of SE Massachusetts Is Seeking Grant Proposals

The Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts, based in New Bedford, this week announced that it is seeking grant proposals from organizations that serve women’s needs and issues.

Program areas to be funded will focus on child abuse prevention and treatment, economic self-sufficiency, and victims of domestic violence.

Grant availability results from the creation of a $500,000 endowment by Hawthorn Medical Associates at the foundation.

Grant proposals of up to $5,000 for a 12-month period are due on Sept. 1. Details.

Greater Worcester Community Foundation Accepting Grant Applications

The Greater Worcester Community Foundation, based in Worcester, announced that it is accepting applications from nonprofits for its 2017 Community Grants program.

Grants typically range from $5,000 to $25,000, and will be awarded for proposals relating to arts and the environment, civic life, early childhood development, economic security, healthy communities, and youth development and education.

Applicants must be 501(c)(3) public charities serving Worcester or the cities and towns of Worcester County. Organizations located outside this area must demonstrate the significant role of local partners in order to be considered.

Applications are due Sept. 15. Details.

Berkshire Taconic Seeking Applications for Its Summer Grants Cycle

The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, based in Sheffield, recently invited nonprofits to apply for grants, as follows:

Grants for nonprofits that provide services to the residents of Adams, Cheshire or Savoy, with up to $100,000 to be awarded this year. Applications are due Sept. 15.

Grants for projects that focus on improving water quality and protecting the community’s natural resources. Applicants must be able to match the grant in cash or in-kind services. A total of $21,000 is available for grantmaking.

Applications are due Sept. 30. Details.
