Mass Mentoring Partnership Grants $624K to 37 Nonprofits

October 18, 2018 — Mass Mentoring Partnership, a Boston-based statewide nonprofit that supports and advances youth-adult relationships, recently announced it has granted $624,300 to 37 nonprofits to support and expand mentoring relationships across Massachusetts.

Mass Mentoring Partnership (MMP) said this year’s grants will create and support more than 2,000 high-quality matches.

Funding for the Mentoring Matching Grants, supported by the Massachusetts state budget for the year that started July 1, is intended to create or support existing mentoring matches and help to increase positive attitudes toward school. The program enlists private-sector support, as grantees are required to match, dollar-for-dollar, the total amount awarded with cash or in-kind resources.

“This funding increase is a tremendous win for our youth-serving programs partners,” said Lily Mendez, MMP's president and chief executive officer “It will allow programs to create and sustain vital relationships between adults and young people to help them thrive and reach their full potential.”
