Mass. Bankers Give $163K to 45 Massachusetts Nonprofits

December 11, 2018 — The Massachusetts Bankers Association last week announced that the MBA Charitable Foundation has granted $163,000 to 45 nonprofits across Massachusetts which are working on opioid/drug addiction, homelessness, women shelters and empowerment, and hunger, among other issues.

Each of the following received $5,000:
  • Abby's House , Worcester

  • Berkshire Family & Individual Resources, North Adams
  • Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham & Wakefield, Stoneham
  • Bread of Life, Malden
  • The Brien Center,Pittsfield
  • Emmaus Inc. , Haverhill
  • The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, Hatfield
  • Girls Inc, of Holyoke, Holyoke
  • Golden Opportunity for Independence, Walpole
  • Habitat for Humanity - North Shore, Danvers
  • Hanover Special Needs Athletic Partnership, Hanover
  • The Island Food Pantry, Vineyard Haven
  • James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club of Woburn, Woburn
  • Lovin' Spoonfuls Food Rescue, Boston
  • Maria Droste Counseling Center/ Madonna Hall, Quincy,
  • Our Daily Bread Taunton, Food & Resource Center, Taunton
  • Pathways for Children Inc. , Gloucester
  • Strong Women, Strong Girls, Jamaica Plain
  • Southeastern MA Veteran's Housing Program, New Bedford
  • Thrive Financial Success Center, Springfield
  • Thrive Support & Advocacy, Marlborough
  • United Neighbors of Fall River, Fall River

Each of the following was granted $2,500 to support those affected by the Merrimack Valley gas explosions last September:
