Six nonprofits and professionals honored with Excellence Awards by MNN
June 22, 2022 — Hundreds of nonprofit, business, and government leaders celebrated six Nonprofit Excellence Award winners at Nonprofit Awareness Day: A Celebration of Nonprofit Excellence. The event was emceed by Katelyn Flint of NBC10 Boston and NECN. The celebration was hosted by the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network (MNN) and presented by Citizens.
“In times that call for resilience and service and commitment, our excellence award winners have provided all of those things — and more,” said Jim Klocke, CEO of MNN. “We are honored to recognize their work through this event. We are grateful for Citizens and their continued support of the Nonprofit Excellence Awards celebration.”

The 2022 Nonprofit Excellence Award winners are:
Excellence in Resilience- Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program
Excellence by a Small Nonprofit - African Cultural Services Inc.
Excellence in Innovation - Foundation for Business Equity
Excellence in Advocacy - New England Aquarium
Excellence by a Young Professional - Yetziann Ortiz, Legendary Legacies Inc.
Excellence in Leadership - Jeanine Murphy, Emmaus Inc.
The winners were nominated by their peers and other community members. An independent panel of judges reviewed over 130 nominations from across the state and selected 30 finalists, from which the six award winners were chosen.
The Massachusetts Nonprofit Network (MNN) is the voice of the nonprofit sector, a statewide organization that brings together all parts of the nonprofit ecosystem–nonprofits, funders, community and business leaders, and elected officials–to strengthen nonprofits and raise the sector’s voice on critical issues.
