May 24, 2022 — Peter Lowy, founder of Massnonprofit News and its companion Wednesday Report, today announced that George Donnelly, former editor of the Boston Business Journal, has acquired the publication and will be assuming all publishing and editorial responsibilities.
Statement from Peter Lowy:
George Donnelly, a highly experienced and respected professional, has exciting plans to expand the publication, and I, for one, eagerly anticipate them.
Most importantly, Massnonprofit News will continue as a free resource to those involved with and serving the Massachusetts nonprofit sector.
Massnonprofit News launched in March 2006, and since then the companion Wednesday Report, which highlights news posted on www.masssnonprofit.org during the previous week, has been emailed free to subscribers. That’s 844 weeks of news…and counting.
What, to me, makes the Massachusetts nonprofit sector fascinating—in addition to the important work it does—is its scope. Knowing what’s happening in the sector, I believe, provides a window into the multifaceted aspects of life across the state. The extent to which Massnonprofit News contributes to that understanding has been the reward of publishing it.
Many thanks to everyone who shares their news. I encourage you to continue sending your news to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Doing so will enable people across the sector to learn from each other and perhaps apply that knowledge to their own work.
Please accept my very best wishes for continued success.
