Boston Grants $1.7M for Food Access, Health, Youth Support

January 5, 2021 — The City of Boston this week announced it granted $1,675,000 to more than six dozen local nonprofits – $780,000 to 39 organizations providing food and health care access in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, and $885,000 to 34 organizations for youth development and violence prevention programming.

Boston Resiliency Fund Grants $780K for COVID-19 Relief

The City of Boston yesterday announced that its Boston Resiliency Fund recently granted $780, to 39 organizations in Boston, serving communities by increasing food and health care access, supporting individuals facing homelessness and assisting seniors related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The Boston Resiliency Fund has been an essential provider to Boston nonprofits, building a network of support to help the most vulnerable Bostonians. The organizations granted have been vital to ensuring those most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic are supported," said Mayor Martin J. Walsh.

Of organizations receiving this 27th round of funding from the Fund since its launch last year, the city said 51% are led by a person of color and 64% are led by a woman.

City of Boston Grants $885,000 to 34 Local Nonprofits Serving Youth

The City of Boston today announced it granted $885,000 to 34 Boston-based nonprofits aimed at supporting increasing youth development and violence prevention programming.

Mayor Walsh noted, "A fundamental part of our residents' public health and public safety is expanding existing services and implementing additional strategies to increase the accessibility of youth programming and violence prevention.”
