Comm. Foundation of W. Mass. Grants $785K to 36 Nonprofits
Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts

July 9, 2020 — The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, based in Springfield, today announced it granted $785,000 from its Response Fund to 34 local nonprofits that are addressing food insecurity, homelessness, those with disabilities and summer programs, and addressing immediate needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Katie Allan Zobel, president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, said, “We continue to respond in the areas of food security and homelessness through the Response Fund while also addressing emerging needs in supporting front-line workers and supporting programs that assist youth and those with disabilities. We appreciate the extraordinary people responding to the crisis on the ground and to the donors sustaining our collaborative efforts.”

The foundation said it is seeking applications from local nonprofits for its continued grantmaking in the coming weeks and months. Organizations seeking grants for resources due to the COVID-19 pandemic are encouraged to apply at its website.
