Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts

June 6, 2020 — The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts yesterday announced it granted $1,055,000 from its COVID-19 Response Fund for the Pioneer Valley to 30 local nonprofits addressing immediate needs for families, mental health, and food justice during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a new development, the Community Foundation is also requesting applications from local nonprofits for its continued grantmaking in the coming weeks and months. Earlier rounds of funds were awarded without a formal application process.

Katie Allan Zobel, president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, said, “These additional grants continue to address the most urgent needs in our community in support of nonprofit organizations doing the work on the ground. As we evolve our grant making to target areas and populations in need, we have instituted an application process for those nonprofit organizations serving and sustaining the most vulnerable among us.”
