Falmouth Road Race Raises $2.4M for 99 Mass. Nonprofits
December 5, 2020 — The Falmouth Road Race, a Falmouth nonprofit which raises funds for charitable organizations through an annual race, this week announced that its 48th annual run, held last summer as a virtual event due to the coronavirus pandemic, raised $2,412,021 for 99 Massachusetts nonprofits.
This year’s New Balance Falmouth Road Race, held Aug. 15-29 as an “At-Home Edition;” attracted 1,668 charity runners who took part in the Numbers for Nonprofits program. The seven-mile race started at the Woods Hole Community Center and followed the coast to finish at Falmouth Heights Beach.
“We’re incredibly proud that so many of our loyal charity runners stuck by both the race and their nonprofits in this challenging year,” said Scott Ghelfi, president of the Falmouth Road Race board of directors. “As the economic and human toll of COVID-19 continues into 2021, we’re already looking toward how our 49th running can further support both Falmouth and our valued partners.”
