NE Foundation for the Arts Awards $666K to 27 Nonprofits
September 24, 2020 — The New England Foundation for the Arts recently announced that it granted $666,000 to 27 arts and cultural nonprofits across Massachusetts through the New England Arts Resilience Fund, created to help organizations respond to the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
The New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) said the grants were awarded in particular to support organizations that are led by and deeply engage communities of color.

Angkor Dance Troupe, Lowell: $10,000

Aquinnah Cultural Center, Aquinnah: $25,000
Artists For Humanity, Boston: $30,000
ArtsEmerson, Boston: $30,000
BAMS Fest, Boston: $35,000
Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, Pao Arts Center, Boston: $20,000
Community Music Center of Boston, Boston: $35,000
Company One Theatre, Boston: $20,000
Double Edge Theatre, Ashfield: $30,000
The Front Porch Arts Collective, Boston: $16,000
Global Arts Live, Cambridge: $20,000
GrubStreet, Boston: $20,000
Ko Festival of Performance, Belchertown: $20,000
MASS MoCA, North Adams: $30,000
New Repertory Theatre, Watertown: $35,000
Piti Theatre Company, Shelburne Falls: $10,000

NEFA said that despite numerous challenges noted by the grant applicants, several opportunities surfaced, including:
An increase in engagement with the public through digital channels and advances in technology.
A growing emphasis on advancing equity internally and externally during a period of change and reflection.
Opportunity to play a leading role in building community cohesion by fostering dialogues and collaborations.
