WCVB teams up with Ellie Fund to support breast cancer care
June 17, 2022 — “5 for Ellie,” the annual fashion show sponsored
by WCVB Channel 5 and The Ilene Beal Charitable Foundation raised over $125,000 for
Ellie Fund, a Needham-based nonprofit dedicated to providing essential services to breast cancer
patients across Massachusetts.
The event, held at The Shops at Chestnut Hill, was emceed by WCVB news anchor
Maria Stephanos, and featured her on-air colleagues, Shayna Seymour, Erika Tarantal, Rhondella Richardson, Jessica Brown,
and Danae Bucci; Massachusetts General Hospital Oncologists Steven Isakoff
and Aditya Baradia; as well as Ellie Fund patients and
donors. All models were styled by KB Fashion Productions and wore the
latest Bloomingdale’s looks. The fashion show’s clothing was inspired by
the event’s travel auction which featured international
trips spanning from Iceland to the Amalfi Coast. The night featured
delicious food and drinks from local Chef David Welch.
