Valley Community Development Appoints Jane Loechler as ED
Loechler, who will start in the job on June 1, will succeed Joanne Campbell, who is retiring after more than 20 years of leadership at Valley Community Development (VCD).
We are thrilled to welcome Jane to Valley Community Development! She has a strong reputation in New England that grows from her remarkable record of helping community development organizations grow and thrive," said Peter Jessop, VCD board president.
He added, Although we will greatly miss Joannes invaluable leadership and dedication to Valleys mission for so many years, were confident that Jane will help Valley move into its next level of growth and strengthen our work in community development."
Loechler served as director of asset management at The Community Builders, a multi-regional affordable housing nonprofit based in Boston. As part of the leadership team, she led a team from five regions and 15 states, managing 11,000 units of affordable, multi-family housing. She also led the engagement of key stakeholders and community residents to improve conditions in their housing.
Earlier, she served as director of asset management for the Caleb Group in Massachusetts. Additionally, she developed housing preservation policy for the state of Minnesota and served as a manager for Twin Cities Housing Development, also based in Minnesota.
Loechler earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in sculpture, performance, and literature from Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
VCD was established in 1988 to address the growing needs of low and moderate income people through development and preservation of affordable housing, providing homeownership education, improving economic opportunities through small business technical assistance, and fostering community leadership in Hampshire and Franklin Counties of western Massachusetts.
The organization has developed 279 units of affordable rental or ownership housing, assisted more than 8,400 homeowners and 2,100 small businesses in western Massachusetts.
