Cape Cod Foundation Grants $90K to 11 Area Nonprofits
Kristin OMalley, president and chief executive officer of The Cape Cod Foundation said, These grants helped several nonprofits with centralized and mobile food pantries purchase commercial-grade refrigerators or freezers to increase their fresh food distribution to clients. They also helped purchase new windows, doors and other security improvements for local shelters.
She add that the grants also supported the purchase of dining tables and chairs for a community kitchen, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system repairs for a shelter, and solar panels for two affordable homes built by Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod.
The following organizations received up to $10,000 each for capital expenditures:
"The opportunity to make grants specifically for capital expenditures serves as a nice complement to our capacity-building funding, where we have not traditionally made large capital investments. Through this generous support, we were able to deploy resources to help meet immediate unmet needs.
